The National Red List Assessment (NRLA) initiative, as announced by Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, marks a historic step toward developing a nationally coordinated system for evaluating the conservation status of India’s flora and fauna. It will serve as a cornerstone for scientific research, ecosystem management, and policy formulation, reflecting India’s dedication to the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF).
